Cat/Kittens

OK, My moms friend at work has this mom cat and is very sweet. The mom cat was pregnant with some kittens. Today June 4, 2009 The mom cat gave birth to 8 KITTENS! So we said we would take them but we don't know if its OK because she just had her kittens today. The dad can't come because he will try to kill them.... My mom told me that once someone at work their cat had 6 kittens and the dad ate 3 kittens head off.
